Routines begin and end

I had someone reach out to me recently asking about my daily routine. He shared that he wanted a better plan and was looking for ideas from people he trusted. That message stuck with me because routines matter. Not because they make us rigid, but because they make us intentional.

At the core of my daily routine is journaling. I start my morning by writing the date and the day, then I choose three priorities for the day. Just three. I have learned that when I try to carry more than that, my mental energy gets scattered. Three priorities allow me to give my full attention to what truly matters.

I also write down three things I am grateful for and a few daily affirmations using I am statements. There is something powerful that happens when you write things down. Clarity shows up. Direction shows up. It is like your mind and heart finally agree on where you are headed.

At night, I return to the journal. I write three highlights from the day, what I learned, and one moment that stood out so I can hold onto it. Those moments become markers. They remind me that even ordinary days are full of meaning if I pay attention.

From there, I focus on strengthening the spirit, the body, and the mind. Spiritually, I start with Scripture, often reading Proverbs and aligning it with the day of the month. Physically, I move. It might be a walk, stretching, or a workout. Mentally, I read or listen to things that help me grow. Growth does not require volume. It requires consistency.

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that a better plan starts with a clearer direction. You have to ask yourself where you want to grow right now. Spiritually. Physically. Mentally. Then you build something simple and sustainable around that answer.

I also try to take care of what I call the power four. Movement. Nutrition and hydration. What I am feeding my mind. Rest and recovery. All of it matters.

More than anything, this routine is about modeling intention. I want my family, Barbi and Bella Love, to see what it looks like to start the day with purpose. To live deliberately. To plant seeds that grow into consistency, character, and peace.

There is no perfect routine. There is only the one you are willing to live out every day.
