📍Youth Open Wrap-Up – Bella’s Day at Super Bowl

We pulled back into the Super Bowl after grabbing breakfast at Chick-fil-A. Bella had just bowled a tough team set, fighting off everything from nerves to expectations. She walked in with her bag slung over her shoulder, quiet but focused, ready for Doubles with Annika.

She came out hot—248 in Game 1. Clean, confident, like she’d found her rhythm again. Game 2 dipped to a 190, but she recovered strong in Game 3 with a 223. That gave her a 661 series and a solid finish to the block. Annika added a 565, and together they kept each other grounded through every lane transition and mental reset.

Then it was time for Singles—three final games to close out the Youth Open.

Bella started strong with a 211, clean and composed.

Game 2, though, was a grind. She started with a strike, but ran into three straight 6-3 leaves that slowed her momentum. She finished with a 159 and knew she had one more shot to end the tournament right.

Therefore, it came down to the third and final game of the Youth Open.

She did a quick reset mentally—took a breath and refocused.

She closed it out with a 205, clean and steady.

A strong, composed finish to a day that tested her in every possible way.

As she packed up her gear, Bella was laughing with Anna Antony—her former roommate from Team USA camp. They caught up, shared high-fives, and ended the day like true teammates who’ve walked through it all together.

Bella had just wrapped up all three events—Team, Doubles, and Singles—but when I asked her what stood out most, it wasn’t the scores.

“Outside of bowling, I had good connection with friends, and they did their best to help me. I still had struggles with my mind and emotions, but I did my best to block it out.”

On the lanes?

“Bowling was better the second block. The first block I struggled. I didn’t really know what I should be throwing. The second block was okay. I still struggled a lot, but I did my very best. And I can’t really ask for anything more except for trying and adjusting.”

She gave credit to Miles and Tyler for helping with ball decisions. She supported her teammates, stayed grounded, and kept showing up with love and grit.

Now we’re heading back to the Airbnb. Shoes are off, gear is loaded, and the day is done.

Bella finished her Youth Open exactly how we hoped she would:

With presence. With courage. With joy.
