When Plans Change, Prayer Prevails

May 27, 2025 – Evening Reflection

Today was supposed to be a family bowling day.

We had plans. The kind you map out with intention—the ones where you imagine laughter, lane-side snacks, and maybe a few gutter balls just to keep things humble.

But sometimes, plans shift.

Schedules get full.

Energy fades.

And the bowling shoes stay in the closet.

What we didn’t know was that something better was waiting at the end of this day.

It didn’t come with flashing lights or high scores.

It came in the quiet of our home.

In the stillness before bedtime.

In the sound of Bella’s voice lifting up a prayer.

Tonight, she didn’t just pray.

She led.

She prayed for our family with conviction and clarity—like she knew heaven was listening. She called God’s Word a map for us. Not just a book. Not just verses. A map. A way through the unknown.

She prayed for peace.

She prayed for each of us.

She prayed with strength.

And it wasn’t just sweet.

It was powerful.

Bella was a prayer warrior tonight.

In a world full of distractions and disruptions, her words pulled us back into alignment. They reminded us what matters most isn’t what happens during the day, but who we become by the end of it.

Plans may change.

Bowling alleys may wait.

But the bond of family, centered in prayer, never fades.

Tonight, we didn’t hit strikes.

But we hit something deeper.

We remembered:

We are a family that prays.

We are a family that follows the map.

And when the lights go out and the world quiets down… we are a family that still stands.

Together.

Waiting and Uncertainty

This morning I reflect on waiting and uncertainty and how both can feel like quiet teachers. Waiting is not empty. It is practice. It is the slow strengthening of patience. And uncertainty is not puni
