Walking Through Reflections: A Morning in Arlington

Date: June 25, 2025

This morning began with the Texas sun warming my face as I stepped out of the hotel and started walking. Each step was an invitation to reflect, to breathe, and to take in the world around me. From the International Bowling Campus where Bella trains, to the towering rides of Six Flags, and the iconic Texas Rangers Stadium, every landmark became a backdrop for introspection.

I thought about the importance of rest and strength, inspired by the story of Floyd Patterson, and how being well-rested can lead to success. I paused under the shade of a large oak tree, observing its roots intertwining beneath the surface, a reminder of how deeply connected everything is beneath what we see.

Memories surfaced as I glimpsed the old roller coaster at Six Flags, recalling my youth group adventures and the thrill of facing fears. Each moment felt like a gentle lesson in presence, in embracing both the known and the unknown, and walking forward with faith.

As I wandered through the Texas Rangers Team Store, surrounded by hats and memorabilia, I felt a sense of nostalgia mixed with gratitude for the journey—past, present, and future.

In the end, my walk came to a natural close inside the Texas Rangers Team Store. Just as I was taking in the last of the memorabilia, I got a call from Barbi letting me know she was ready to pick me up and head to lunch. I stepped outside and met her right between the old Rangers Stadium and the new Globe Life Field, a fitting spot that bridged past memories with the present moment. We drove off to enjoy a lunch date, savoring pho soup and spring rolls, and shared a wonderful meal of connection and reflection on the morning’s journey. It was the perfect way to wrap up a day of walking, remembering, and being present.
