Walking Reflections — Define and Protect Priorities

Walking Reflections — Define and Protect Priorities

By B.C. Castillo

This morning, I rose before the sun—but not before the birds.

They were already singing.

I stepped into the blue stillness, that quiet hour before the world wakes up. The Tree stood tall in the distance, unmoved, unbothered, unwavering. It didn’t speak, but it didn’t have to.

Today’s theme: Define and Protect Priorities.

I didn’t wake at 2.

I didn’t sleep until 7.

I found the space in between.

A space where I could walk—not to chase anything, not to perform—but to begin the day grounded.

I walked with intention,

with connection,

and with contribution.

I haven’t packed the car yet.

I haven’t carried the bowling balls or backpacks.

But I will.

And when I do, I’ll carry more than weight—I’ll carry the peace of this morning.

My mission is simple:

Let those around me—my friends, my family, her team—

feel the presence of someone who is here to serve.

That’s what today is about:

Not proving.

Not performing.

Just serving.

And letting others see what’s already living inside.

Waiting and Uncertainty

This morning I reflect on waiting and uncertainty and how both can feel like quiet teachers. Waiting is not empty. It is practice. It is the slow strengthening of patience. And uncertainty is not puni
