Walking by Obedience and Faith
Today reminded me that obedience often opens doors we could never have forced open on our own. It’s not about logic or comfort—it’s about faith and trust in what we’re called to do, even when we don’t fully understand why.
This morning I didn’t really feel like going out for coffee, but something in me said go. So I did. And as I stepped out of the car, I met an older couple named Kenny and Joni. What started as a simple hello turned into a conversation about God, patience, and faith. We talked about what it means to walk through uncertain seasons and still believe that God is working all things together for good. Sharing that cup of coffee with them wasn’t a coincidence—it was confirmation. God shows up in the most ordinary places when we choose to trust Him.
Later in the day, I was reminded again that obedience brings connection. During my walk, I saw a neighbor in his garage doing push-ups. I’d already finished my own workout, but I felt led to ask if he wanted company. His wife joined the conversation and began speaking life into me about walking by faith and trusting the Spirit. Hearing their stories of struggle and how God came through for them filled me with hope and reassurance that He will do the same for me.
Through every interaction—whether it was time with my wife and daughter, a conversation over coffee, or a quick talk with a neighbor—I could feel the same message echoing back: stay present. Be where your feet are.
God uses those small, obedient steps to teach us how to serve, how to love, and how to live fully in the moment. Life moves fast, and time always seems to be running out, but when we’re rooted in awareness, we can pour our whole heart into the people and places right in front of us.
Faith isn’t about knowing where the road leads—it’s about trusting the One who does.
