The Circle That Holds Us Steady

The Circle That Holds Us Steady

In life, we are never meant to stand alone. At the center of everything is our identity—our inner values, principles, and standards. This core is what grounds us, fuels us, and defines who we are. Around that center, we build a circle of people who remind us of what is true, who encourage us when we forget, and who walk beside us when we feel weak.

Today’s reflection is about remembering that nothing real can ever be disturbed. At times, false thoughts or “dreams” can convince us we are less than whole, separate from peace, or burdened with guilt. But when we are surrounded by those who remind us of our true identity, we return to what has always been there: safety, unity, and peace.

Like a bucket of ocean water carried into the desert—it may seem far from its source, but its essence has never changed. The same is true for us. We carry within us the same strength, purpose, and identity of where we came from, no matter the circumstances.

Gratitude unlocks this truth. Gratitude shifts our focus to the gifts we’ve already been given, the support around us, and the patience that allows us to grow. When we root deeply into who we are, and surround ourselves with people who affirm that, we step into clarity. We move with trust, confidence, and peace.

The circle around us matters—but most importantly, what matters is remembering the unbreakable connection to the source within us. From there, everything else flows.
