Small Tasks, Big Peace

Small Tasks, Big Peace

Tonight I found myself reflecting on something simple, but powerful. Tasks.

It’s something I’ve talked through with Bella, and something Barbi has reminded me of over the years. Write a small to do list. Not an overwhelming one. Just a few things that actually matter. Decide what you want to get done, then move through the day with awareness. Pay attention to the situations around you, the circumstances that show up, and the moments where action is needed.

Take the action. Then pause and look at the results.

Today was one of those good days. Not flashy. Just solid. We cleaned up and organized parts of the house that had been sitting on the back burner. Bella made real progress on schoolwork she needed to finish. She even made dinner tonight, which I was truly grateful for.

What really stood out to me was her devotion. She went to church this evening, spent time worshiping God, learning, and fellowshipping with her friends. That matters to me. A lot. For me, the night was about time with family, conversations that speak life, and simply being present with Barbi and the people we love.

Today reminded me that things can either sit in the background, untouched, or we can gently bring them forward and take the next right step. When we pile too much on our plate, nothing moves. But when we choose just a few meaningful tasks, we can go to bed with peace knowing something good was completed.

Community. Family. Growth. Awareness.

Whatever happens, happens. We notice it. We learn from it. We pivot. And we move forward a little better than before.

Tonight, the feeling in our home is gratitude. And that’s more than enough.
