🎳Kris Steps, Curveballs & Curly Fries: A Bowling Day to Remember
Today wasn’t about the scoreboard.
It wasn’t about stats, strikes, or even the snap on my release (though let’s be real, I’m working on it). Today was about something better—real time together.
Bella and I hit the lanes for what started out as a chill practice session and turned into one of those golden-life moments that sneaks up on you. Landon showed up out of nowhere, and we had the cameras rolling for a spontaneous livestream that caught all the vibes.
I didn’t bowl great. I’ll admit it. But I did find a better grip. Bella helped me adjust my wrist and get the ball resting more on my forearm. I’ve got more hook now—just need to pitch it with more speed. Honestly, it felt a lot like being back on the mound in college—except this time, the ball’s heavier, and everything’s upside down. Still, the muscle memory kicked in. And more than that, her coaching landed.
Meanwhile, Bella was smooth. Confident. Sharp. She’s growing—right in front of me—and not just in bowling. Her presence, her patience with me, her leadership on and off the lanes… that’s the real win.
We laughed hard, dropped a few inside jokes (like “Potato” and the “Curly Fries crew”), and wrapped up with no vlog clips but full hearts. That’s when she reminded me—we livestreamed it. So if you missed the strikes, spares, and snack bar debates, you can catch the replay (link in the description once she uploads it).Bella Love Castillo is live!
I’m still working on my Kris Steps, trying to build the rhythm and balance it takes to really pitch the ball out with speed and rev. Bella’s got me dialed in—I’m just trying to catch up.
We’re back home now. Balls cleaned. Hands washed. Gear packed. And yeah—I’m still thinking about that moment we tried to high-five and almost punched each other again. That’s what memories are made of.
It’s the day before the 4th of July. Fireworks are already going off in the neighborhood. But for me, the real sparks happened today—under fluorescent lights, with the sound of pins crashing and laughter echoing across lanes.
Family. Fun. Flow.
That’s what this game is really about.
