Halfway Home — A Morning Interrupted by Storm

Halfway Home — A Morning Interrupted by Storm

I made it halfway down my walk this morning before the sky told me it was time to turn back.

The wind picked up fast—flags whipped in the air, and a soda can rattled down the street, blown quickly by the gusts. The raindrops grew bigger with every step, and the sky was blasting lightning bolts all around me.

But I made it home safely.

Not soaked.

Just present.

Now I’m sitting in the garage—out of the wind, listening as the rain passes overhead.

Just waiting. Watching.

Letting this moment speak.

When the all-clear comes, I’ll go walking again.

Not because I have to.

But because I get to.

Because even half a walk counts when your heart shows up.
