From Storm to Stillness: A Day Worth Showing Up For

From Storm to Stillness: A Day Worth Showing Up For

The day began with thunder in the distance—

the kind of storm that wakes the spirit more than it disturbs the sky.

The kind that reminds you: you’re alive, and you’re still becoming.

Morning brought a quiet space—

a chair, a still heart, some time to reflect and build.

There was work to be done, but not the kind you rush.

The kind you listen for.

The kind that finds you in the stillness.

Later came a good conversation—

one of those talks that opens doors and breathes life into future visions.

Dreams were shared.

Ideas were planted.

And hope…

hope found its way into the room.

As the sun fell behind thickening clouds, dinner arrived with laughter.

Not extravagant—just enough.

Enough to fill the space with warmth and lightness.

Enough to say: this matters.

And then, as if in rhythm with the soul,

the storm returned.

Thunder rolled.

Lightning danced.

And rain poured from the sky like a benediction.

So here I stand now—on the porch, just under the roofline,

watching the storm close the day it opened.

And I can’t help but think—

What a gift it is…

to show up,

to ride the rhythms,

to trust the process—

and to be grateful,

even when the rain falls.

Because sometimes, it’s the storm that reminds you

how blessed you already are.

Waiting and Uncertainty

This morning I reflect on waiting and uncertainty and how both can feel like quiet teachers. Waiting is not empty. It is practice. It is the slow strengthening of patience. And uncertainty is not puni
