Day 2 at Junior Gold – The Grind, the Growth, and the Finish

July 15 – Super Bowl, 2025

Today was a roller coaster—but the kind you’re glad you rode once it’s over.

Bella started Day 2 of Junior Gold at Super Bowl on a brand-new pattern. The first game was tough. She had a few washouts—one in the 4th, 7th, and 9th frames—and finished with a 143. Even though it was a grind, she stayed composed, closed the 10th frame, and shook it off heading into Game 2.

Game 2 was a complete turnaround. She opened with a 9-spare and started finding the pocket consistently. By the 7th frame, she had a rhythm going. She left a 10-pin in both the 7th and 8th, but between those, she strung five strikes in a row and wrapped the game with a beautiful 234.

Game 3 started shaky. First frame: solid shot, but she left a 10-pin—and rushed it, whiffed it. Then a 7-pin spare. In the 3rd, she left a 3-6 and chopped it, leaving the 3. In the 4th, she missed a 4-pin. That made three opens in four frames, and you could see the frustration starting to creep in.

But then—she flipped the script.

Frame 5: 10-pin, spare.

Frame 6: 10-pin, spare.

And from there—SIX STRIKES IN A ROW to end the game with a 204.

She battled back from early struggles with grit and focus. It was a reminder of who she is when the pressure’s on.

In Game 4, Bella started strong with a strike. In the 2nd frame, she left the tricky 3-6-7-10 and couldn’t convert it. But she responded with consistency:

  • 3rd and 4th frames: 9-spare (both leaving 10s)

  • Then a three-bagger, a 4-pin (spared), and four strikes to close it out, finishing with a 226.

Her total for the day?

807 for the 4-game block.

That’s +7 for today, added to yesterday’s -21, putting her at -14 overall and currently sitting in 11th place in her division (with one more squad left to bowl tonight).

Special shout out to Coach Trishna and Coach Zach for being steady, encouraging voices right when Bella needed it most. During Game 3, when things started to slip early, Coach Zach really stepped in and helped her reset—mentally and physically. That shift led to six strikes in a row and a total game turnaround. Coach Trishna continued that support into Game 4, helping Bella stay focused and composed through the final push. Their presence made a huge difference today, and we’re so grateful for the impact they had on Bella’s performance and spirit.

This journey isn’t just about scores—it’s about learning, adjusting, staying grounded, and finding joy in the challenge. Bella did that today. She battled, bounced back, and ended strong.

We’ll take a deep breath, recover, and get ready for what’s next. For now, we’re proud, grateful, and soaking in all the lessons this sport gives.

More to come soon. 💙🎳
