Clouds, Fog, and Bella Love

Clouds, Fog, and Bella Love

As I reflect this morning, I think about the clouds in the fog resting on me, near the ground, and the beauty that’s always there, and the hope, and thanksgiving for a new day. To be able to take a deep breath in, breathe in the fresh air, and see the opportunities that lie before me.

I reflect back to all the challenges and obstacles that are present—not just as deterrents, but as opportunities for growth. The chance to tap into trust and hope, and to use my two hands for the best work I can do this day.

As I move forward with my duties, I store up my treasures in the moments and memories of each day. I think of my daughter, Bella Love. I remember when she was born, how gentle her two hands were, and how they could only hold my fingers. It shocked me when she began to roll over, then crawl, then walk.

As she grew, she tapped into friendships at school, put on her first bowling jersey, and bowled her first tournament. I’ve watched her experience life, become wise, and carry a fire inside her that still burns bright—even when the world tries to water it down. That fire is a blessing not just to me and Barbi, but to everyone around her who gets to experience her joy, her genuine heart, and her love for life.

Today I want to focus on enjoying Bella, watching her grow, and seeing her step into this next stage of life. She still has time left in high school, but she is already preparing for college, and my prayer is that we’ve trained her up in a way that she can leave home equipped to navigate the world—but also loved in such a way that she’ll always want to return home.

I am thankful. I am blessed. I am proud.
