Centered Roads and Chocolate Chip Cookies – June 21, 2025
Today’s drive has been more than miles—it’s been moments.
We left Springfield this morning and headed through Centered Roads and Chocolate Chip Cookies – June 21, 2025
. During the drive, we connected with some friends over FaceTime, sharing the journey with their sweet girls. It was a real joy hearing familiar voices and sharing the road with people we love, even from afar.
While the wheels turned, we listened to The Let them Theory by Mel Robbins. Barbi read scripture, and we dove into a rich conversation about the fruits of the Spirit. There was a calm, a centering, a deep exhale in the middle of the motion.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was watching Bella sharpen her mind. She chose to read both her bowling book and Discipline is Destiny. There was something different in her today—a clarity, a hunger. She remembered the “Six Mistakes of Man” by Cicero, and we reflected on Kobe Bryant’s transformation—how he stopped trying to compel others to believe as he did and simply led by example. Bella got that. She truly got it.
She didn’t neglect the habit of study—and didn’t neglect her body either. She got up, went to the gym, and trained. She tried new exercises I recommended. Even better, I didn’t step in to correct her when she chose to modify. She pushed the medicine ball while I rolled it. She did her thing, and I did mine. And it worked. We both contributed something. We both received something. It was connection, not correction.
Barbi, Bella, and I carried all our gear down from the hotel this morning—no luggage cart, just teamwork. Bella helped load the car while Barbi handled checkout and grabbed three fresh chocolate chip cookies for the road.
We made a Buc-ee’s stop that turned into more than just a coffee run (as it usually does). Yes, the receipt was bigger than we planned—but so were the smiles.
Everyone did their work today. Bella posted to Instagram and YouTube. I’m working on my BCC content. We’re moving forward—together, strong, grateful, and growing.
