Blog Post: A Day with Barbi and Bella

Blog Post: A Day with Barbi and Bella

Some days don’t need a headline—they just need to be lived slowly, with your people.

This morning started with presence.

Quiet walks.

Deep roots.

Reflections on parents, and what we carry forward—and what we release.

A tree. A breath. A prayer.

Then it shifted.

Coffee and chive cream cheese bagels from a local café.

Barbi in the front seat.

Bella in the back.

Laughter mixing with the music.

We dropped Bella off at her internship—she’s stepping into her own now, in quiet, strong ways.

We ran errands, picked up signs, made our rounds.

A short conversation at the church.

A moment of pause.

Nothing big. Just real.

I brought Bella back home, she changed, and now—we’re heading out to bowl.

Nothing fancy.

No agenda.

Just family.

Just love.

Sometimes the most holy days are the ones no one else notices.

But I notice.

Because I know what it means to be surrounded by grace in human form.

And today, I had both of them—Barbi and Bella—by my side.

That’s more than enough.

Waiting and Uncertainty

This morning I reflect on waiting and uncertainty and how both can feel like quiet teachers. Waiting is not empty. It is practice. It is the slow strengthening of patience. And uncertainty is not puni
