This morning at Bowlero in Garland, Bella stepped up for her five-game block on the Bill O’Neill pattern at the PBA Junior.
It wasn’t an easy day. Scores were low across the house, the lanes were tricky, and Bella was still feeling some vertigo and dizziness from yesterday. But she fought through it. She showed up with the same determination and quiet strength that she always does, and I couldn’t have been more proud watching her.
Game after game, there were ups and downs. She had moments where everything clicked — stringing strikes together, making smart ball changes, and finishing strong. And she also had games where the splits piled up, the pocket felt tight, and the pins just didn’t want to fall. That’s the nature of bowling, and especially on a tough pattern like today.
But what stood out wasn’t her score. It was her attitude. Even when she was frustrated with herself, she kept going. Even when she missed a spare or left a tough split, she stayed in it. She carried herself with maturity, fought through the dizziness, and kept competing.
At the end of the morning, her total was 927 for five games — an average of 185. That was enough to keep her sitting in first place by about 30 pins going into the afternoon block. But more important than the numbers, she walked off the lanes still smiling, still learning, and still giving her best.
Now we’re at Chick-fil-A for lunch, sitting as a family, laughing a little, and just enjoying the break before the afternoon session. I’m proud of Bella not just for how she bowls, but for who she is — a strong, determined, kind young woman who keeps showing up no matter what the day brings.
