Bella Love Castillo: Day 6 Junior Gold Squad Recap

16-Game Qualifying Complete | Final Total: –14 | Daily Avg: 186.5

On Day 6 of Junior Gold, Bella Love Castillo closed out her 16-game qualifying round with a steady, gritty four-game block, finishing the day at –54 and holding strong at –14 overall for the tournament.

Game 1 – 189

Bella opened with a confident start, sparing the 3-6-10 and rolling four consecutive strikes to get into early rhythm. But the momentum was disrupted in the 6th through 8th frames with a string of challenging splits: 3-7-10, washout (2-4-6-10), and 2-8-10. She steadied herself with a clean 3-6-10 in the 9th, then struck and spared in the 10th to finish with a resilient 189.

Game 2 – 181

The second game brought a mixed bag. A missed baby split (3-10) in the first frame and an open 1-2-8 in the 5th created early turbulence. But Bella remained composed, converting a 1-10 split and stringing together a clean 8th–10th frame run with a double and a spare for 181. Another single-pin make in the 10th would’ve easily pushed her past 190.

Game 3 – 172

Game three looked promising early. Bella opened with a strike, left a pocket 7–10 split in the 2nd, then bounced back with a strike in the 3rd. A light hit in the 4th left the 2-10, followed by another clean shot and a stubborn 7-pin. A three-bagger in frames 6–8 gave hope for a late surge, but a missed 3-pin in the 9th and a rushed second shot in the 10th left her finishing with a frustrating 172.

Game 4 – 204

Bella rebounded beautifully in the final game. She opened with a front-three string and stayed clean through the first half, only missing a 2-10 in the 5th. A timely messenger in the 8th wiped out the 10, and she kept her poise through a tight finish—converting tough spares in the 9th and 10th and striking on the fill for a strong 204.
