Be Where Your Feet Are



How mental performance training changed the way I live, coach, and show up


Over the years, I’ve studied and practiced the principles of mental performance and sports psychology—not just for athletes, but for life.


If there’s one truth that’s become crystal clear, it’s this:


Anxiety lives in the future.

Depression lives in the past.

But performance—clarity—presence—lives right here.


When we get caught in the what ifs of tomorrow or the what was of yesterday, we rob ourselves of the only place we can actually move, decide, create, or connect—the present moment.


That’s why the best athletes, and the best versions of ourselves, are trained to do one thing above all: stay where your feet are.


It’s simple, but it’s not easy.

Because your mind will try to wander. It will try to replay the missed shot or predict the next mistake. It will want to fix what already happened or prepare for everything that might.


But when we practice presence—when we choose to focus on doing our absolute best right now, in this breath, this drill, this decision, this conversation—something powerful happens:


  • Decision fatigue fades

  • The noise gets quiet

  • Your mind and body align

  • You enter a flow state—not by force, but by habit



This doesn’t just apply between the lines, on the field, or in the gym. It applies in life—as a parent, a partner, a student, a professional, a believer, a human being trying to move through the world with intention.


The practice of presence is the foundation for peak performance.

Not just in sport, but in the moments that actually make up your life.
